Wayne Mark Rooney (born 24 October 1985) is an English professional football manager and former player who is the head coach of EFL Championship club Derby County. He is Manchester United's all-time leading scorer and the only player to have scored 250 goals for the Reds. Rooney also holds the record for the most goals scored for England.

Early Career and Rise to Prominence

Rooney began his career at Everton, making his senior debut at the age of 16. He quickly established himself as one of the most promising young players in England, and in 2004, he was signed by Manchester United for a then-record fee of £27 million. Rooney played for United for 13 seasons, winning five Premier League titles, one FA Cup, four League Cups, and one UEFA Champions League title.

International Career

Rooney made his England debut in 2003 and went on to become the team's all-time leading scorer. He played in three World Cups and two European Championships, helping England reach the semi-finals of the 2018 World Cup. Rooney retired from international football in 2018 with 53 goals in 120 appearances.
